Ryan Learns to Ride His Bike - January 2005

We have known for months he could ride, but he was very scared to try. Well, he made up his mind and just went out and started riding with Jimmy the other day. As he was pedaling along and realized he was doing it on his own, he shouted back at his Dad, "I'm doing it! I'm doing it! YES!!!" It was really a neat moment for us as parents to see him take such joy in learning to do something on his own. And since then, he's already started trying to do bike tricks (much to his mother's nervousness)--like tire burnouts, going up sidewalk ramps and driveways, and "no feet."

And just for a Natalie update, we're up to 2 teeth on bottom, and almost 4 on top, eating solid foods pretty good, saying MaMa and Dada, and just SO CLOSE to walking. Here's some shots of her excitedly watching Ryan ride his bike in her new red wagon.
